On the 31 st of May, 1538, the King of France entered Villeneuve Loubet with an escort of 1,600 horses and 6,000 foot soldiers. He was the guest of Anne de Lascaris' aunt and her cousin, Claude de Savoie, at the castle of Villeneuve Loubet . He was invited by Pope Paul III to sign the Truce of Nice with his rival the emperor Charles Quint.

Francois 1er stayed at the castle until the 22 nd of June 1538, governing France from Villeneuve Loubet.

Richard Camou, Mayor of Villeneuve Loubet, initiated the creation of a grand historical reconstitution of the King's visit to Villeneuve Loubet.

In June 2005 and 2006, these representations were performed to over 10,000 visitors by several hundred volunteer “Villeneuvois” in period costume.

For the occasion, the steering committee chose my renaissance-style compositions as the official music for the reconstitution. The CD was distributed and sold during the four days of performances.
